What is Retreat 2 Write?

This is my first attempt at a blog. A year ago I didn't even know what a blog was. And yet now here I am with my Retreat 2 Write version. I already have a group site called Sassyscribes at Yahoo that has been great for meeting other writers. Check it out at:

But when this came in today in the form of a link on another site, I knew this was another means to connect with others like yourself.

What is Retreat 2 Write? First of all it literally is a weekend retreat by the sea for writers. That was so successful this fall, that we are planning another one in conjunction with our Writers Festival April 15-17 in Powell River. But then I wondered why we couldn't create an online version of the same thing. Sure you won't be sitting by the sea literally with others, but maybe this will inspire you to take time away from your normal activities to create a retreat of your own. Even if its just for a few hours, where you can sit and write peacefully you will better for making the time. Thus the name of my blog.

I'd love to hear what you did to create your own Retreat 2 Write, what you wrote and what your goals and challenges are.

Somebody said that writers must write just as a painter must paint. If we don't we feel frustrated and like something is missing.

This is just the beginning of a new global community of writers. Please pass this around and lets make a difference in the world, one writer at a time.
